book cover Caro's Book of Poker Tells This book will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about reading your opponent. It covers everything from betting habits, to subtle changes in behavior, to seemingly nonchalant table talk. There is almost too much information; you can't possibly process it all after reading it just once. I would recommend skimming through the book trying to pick out the main points, and then go back to it on occasion as you notice some tendencies in the people you play with. My only complaint is that the pictures in the book look like they were taken in the 1970s so it makes the book look dated, but all in all I would definitely recommend this book.
book cover Tournament Poker for Advanced Players Tournament poker is somewhat different than your average ring game. Non only do you have to worry about whether or not you are going to win a pot, you have to consider whether you want to risk losing and being pushed that much closer to being eliminated from the tournament. Sklansky covers a number of important tournament topics such as the gap concept, making deals at the final table, and all-in strategy. Its especially worth reading for those of you who are successful in ring games and looking to try tournaments, or for anyone looking to improve his tournament play.
book cover Winning Low-Limit Hold'em (2nd Edition) Low Limit Holdem is a little different than higher stakes and no limit games that you may be used to, or that most books cover. They tend to be much looser, and as such, you have to adjust your play in order to maximize your winning potential. Lee Jones provides good advice on many common situations such as flopping trips, or a strong drawing hand. This book will give you a solid foundation with which you can be a winner at Low Limit Holdem.

book cover Positively Fifth Street Jim McManus was supposed to cover the World Series of Poker for a magazine article. Follow him as he instead, enters the tournament and ends up at the final table. Some of the background information and stories that McManus provides can be a bit dull, but the excitement of the play by play action in the main event of the World Series more than makes up for it.
